POSITION PURPOSE

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator at City on a Hill is key to promoting our mission and help drive engagement across our diverse audience segments. Responsibilities include crafting and coordinating effective strategies for marketing, communication, and content creation, as well as collaborating with the Executive Assistant and CEO. This role aims to enhance outreach through various platforms, including our website and social media channels.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Marketing, Social Media, and Brand Stewardship

  • Create and edit written, video, and photo content primarily for social media, with general communications as a secondary focus, ensuring a consistent brand voice across all platforms.
  • Using Adobe, and Canva to design on-brand content for all marketing materials.
  • Attends programming & fundraising events to produce live social media content – photos, individual statements & testimonials.
  • Assists EA in ensuring organized storage of all marketing materials & promo swag.
  • Assists EA with updates to the organization’s website and social media platforms, which include Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram & TikTok.
  • Collaborates with EA to execute social media strategies and Google AdWords advertising campaigns, aiming to boost engagement and broaden reach. Utilizes Google Analytics to measure activity and analyzes digital marketing data for informed strategy adjustments.
  • Collaborates with EA in broadening social & communications reach and visibility in both the neighborhood and City of Milwaukee.

 Communications

    • Craft compelling content that aligns with brand and vision for various channels including newsletters, marketing materials, and annual reports.
    • Coordinate photography and videography for events and promotional needs.
    • Creates content for various MailChimp emails to select audiences on a scheduled basis. Integrates communication on the website and social media.
    • Creates Tour Packets for organizational tours, various external events, and meetings held by the Office of the CEO or Development team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience in nonprofit, social service, or ministry organization marketing.
  • Strongly preferred: Candidates with a robust digital portfolio showcasing successful social media campaigns, content creation, and audience engagement across platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, X, and TikTok.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a marketing or communications role with evidence of successful project management and campaign execution.
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (Canva & Adobe Creative Suite) and ability to design on-brand content for all marketing materials.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content that aligns with our mission and vision.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with keen attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
  • Passion for social impact, community development, and a growing relationship with Christ evidenced by integrity, humility, and an active prayer life.

MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Operates equipment necessary to perform a job.
  • Stands, walks, reaches above the shoulder, squats, bends, twists, kneels, and climbs throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to lift, push, and carry various items up to 20 lbs.
