Youth Center & Community Engagement Manager

Position Purpose

Oversees Youth Center for youth ages 6-19 during after-school hours during the school year or during the day in the summer. Provides a wholistic environment and high impact programming that help youth break the cycle of generational poverty and that draw students closer to God, while fulfilling the current grant requirements. Leads the effort to include City on a Hill in city-wide initiatives focused on Positive Youth Development and partners with similar organizations to increase City on a Hill’s visibility in Milwaukee and community. Provides a safe and professional environment for children, youth, volunteers, staff and visiting guests that promotes the values of the organization. Contributes to the development goals to expand youth services by increasing daily attendance and serving additional youth.

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. 
  • A minimum of 7 years of post-secondary work experience in youth development, recreation, education, or related field. 
  • Must have a valid Wisconsin driver’s license with a clean record. 
  • Experience effectively serving and supporting youth and families of color, particularly African American and Latino/a. 
  • 3-5 years of Management experience, preferably in human services, social services, or parachurch organization. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage change effectively and be flexible. Occasional weekend scheduling required. 
  • Experience building, supervising, and supporting diverse staff teams. 
  • Good working knowledge of computer software including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. 
  • Active in a local church with evidence of spiritual maturity, including integrity, humility, and self-control.
