City on a Hill provides compassion training events, removing racial residue training and mission trips.
COMPASSION TRAINING EVENTS
For churches and ministry focused groups, City on a Hill has created a suite of unique, thought-provoking training events that can supercharge your group’s commitment to living a life of purpose, rooted in compassion for others. We use God’s heart for the poor and oppressed as the catalyst for your group’s learning.
REMOVING RACIAL RESIDUE
Our training focuses on three levels of what we call “racial residue” – in the white community where white privilege and blinders prevail; and in communities of color where anger, fear and distrust continue to grow – that are hindering community-wide peace and collective action to remove racism from our institutions and societal structures. The workshop combines a visual metaphor, a presentation of the racial residue concept and levels, and personal stories told by black, white, Latino, Native American and/or Asian trainers about the impact of racism and its residue in their lives.
Given the complex and interconnected nature of generational poverty and its root causes, City on a Hill is committed to engaging other in solutions to poverty that accelerate progress in our lifetime. Addressing issues of poverty and oppression involves working on a personal level to bring relief, change and restoration; and on a community level to bring understanding, compassion and justice.
